The Year in Industry

The Year in Industry (YINI) are the UK’s leading student placement experts and want to set you on the fast-track to your future career.

Working with internationally renowned companies, we offer work placements that are challenging, rewarding and deliver real business experience to help you stand out from the crowd.

Placements are available in your gap year or during university and last between 9 and 12 months, so if you want to travel as well there’s plenty of time to plan your own trip before you head off to university.

All our placements give you the skills and knowledge employers are looking for, the experience will help you make the most of university – and you get to earn while you learn.

There are currently a number of high quality gap year work placements available for academic year 2009/10. These placements are in high demand so we advise you register as soon as possible.

Who will I work for?

We only work with companies who are committed to giving you real business experience and industry experience. Our partners range from leading FTSE 100 companies to small innovative start –ups. Shell, Rolls-Royce, QinetiQ, British Energy, L’Oreal, Network Rail, AstraZeneca, Airbus all take YINI students.

What kind of job will I do?

We have placements for students interested in all areas of engineering, science, IT, e-commerce, business, finance and logistics.

You will become a trusted member of the team, given your own responsibilities and expected to deliver results. The satisfaction you will get will be huge.

What’s the catch?

We’re a charity, so we ask for £25.00 a registration fee which starts the process and covers our administration costs, from that point your registered and we will start the YINI process. We want to give you the chance to work, earn, win and get ahead!
