The next generation of Investment Bankers – could this be you?

The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment is the largest and most widely respected professional body for those who work in the securities and investment industry in the UK and in a growing number of major financial centres round the world. Evolved from the London Stock Exchange, we now have more than 40,000 members in 89 countries. In the past year, we set almost 40,000 examinations in over 70 countries, covering a range of vocational qualifications.

As one of the Institute’s charitable objectives, we actively promote the advancement of knowledge in the field of securities and investment in schools and colleges. Partnering with education centres allows the CISI to offer a strong foundation of knowledge for those considering a career in financial services.

How can I get a head start in Financial Services?

The Certificate for Introduction to Securities & Investment is a two unit qualification for 6th form students and would be the ideal place to start. The qualification comprises;

  • Unit 1 – is a vocational qualification that provides a basic introduction to the financial services industry and is the starting point for many staff when they join the investment sector.
  • Unit 2 – is an Extended Project that allows you to gain up to 60 UCAS points which could help you secure a place at University.

Completing this qualification opens a pathway to other recognised CISI qualifications and membership.

What kind of job might I get?

Members of the CISI who take our qualifications work in places such as:

  • Forensic Accounting – investigating fraudulent activities, uncovering money laundering and trace missing assets

  • Risk Analysis - identifying and analysing the risks that may occur in the market
  • Investment Analysis - researching and recommending which funds to invest in
