More people are choosing a career in finance than ever before. Accountants are in demand around the world in a wide range of industries. Accountancy is a career that will give you choices. You can work for who you want, where you want. Finance is global and with the right qualification you could be too. As an accountant you can make a difference. Your work will be interesting and stimulating. You’ll be right at the centre of all the action making key decisions about the direction of any organisation you work for. And you’ll be respected for your knowledge and skills.

Why ACCA?

ACCA – the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants – is the globaly body for professional accountants. We have been around for over 100 years so our growth is backed by a solid history. And with 325,000 students and 122,000 members in over 170 countries we offer a truly global qualification.

Our role as a professional body is to set the exams for our students who are training to become accountants. That way we can ensure that ACCA accountants are of the highest quality with the right knowledge and skills. We also look after the interests of our members and represent the accountancy industry.

The ACCA Qualification can help you progress in your career. It is an established route and once you qualify you can use the ‘ACCA’ letters after your name. We have a reputation for excellence in qualifications and training which is acknowledged by employers around the world.

The ACCA Qualification

The ACCA Qualification trains you to become an accountant. It gives you the most options for study, training and your future career. In order to qualify as an ACCA member you will need to complete 14 exams (9 of which you can be exempt from depending on previous qualifications) and complete three years practical work experience as an accountant. In addition you will also need to complete a module on professional ethics. Accountants have a huge responsibility towards all stakeholders and so they need to at all times display judgement and professionalism.

It was a very rewarding event. It was good to reach out to young adults from the locality and furnish them with courage and confidence. I am looking forward to similar collaborations in the coming academic year
